About this site

Welcome to a space that celebrates products that spark joy and examines those that fall flat. Journey with me as we explore the intersection of craft, process, people, strategy, and serendipity. We'll explore the delightful details that make products soar, those moments of unexpected whimsy that turn users into advocates, alongside the cautionary tales of what happens when teams lose sight of what matters. Because building great software isn't just about sprints and standups; it's about the people behind the keyboards, the leaders who clear their paths, and the collective belief that we can bring more joy, wonder, and yes, even a little magic into the products that shape our daily lives. If you're passionate about product or simply someone who believes that the things we interact with can and should be better, you'll find observations, insights, and the occasional delightful surprise waiting here.

About this author

I'm Jenai Drouillard, a product and operations leader who's spent over two decades building, scaling, and sometimes rescuing software products across EdTech, Automotive, and Supply Chain.

I've built product organizations from scratch, shipped warehouse automation platforms with real-time physical consequences, helped teams turn R&D into working software, and mentored more product managers than I can count. I've sat in the C-suite reviews, owned the P&Ls, and also been the person in the weeds asking why does this flow feel so clunky?

What I've learned through all of it: great products don't happen by accident. They happen when the right people are empowered, the right problems are chosen, and someone in the room cares enough to sweat the details - even the ones users will never consciously notice but will absolutely feel.

That's what this blog is about. I'm glad you're here.
